- Participants will be able to distinguish the anatomy of an ischemic stroke.
- Participants will recognize which patients are a good candidate for thrombectomy.
- Participants will be able to describe the risk and benefit of a thrombectomy.

About the Presenter
Dr. Daniel Sahlein
Dr. Sahlein received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He completed the NYU Langone Medical Center triple boards program, completing 2 residencies (neurology and radiology) as well as 2 fellowships (diagnostic neuroradiology and interventional neuroradiology). Dr. Sahlein was an assistant professor of radiology in neurosurgery and neurology at Columbia University Medical Center for three years prior to moving to Indiana. Dr. Sahlein actively conducts and has published research on brain aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations, and is the principal investigator of the Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine endovascular stroke treatment database. In the last decade, he has published numerous articles in highly regarded biomedical journals and is an international lecturer in endovascular techniques. In addition to being board certified in diagnostic radiology, neurology and neuroradiology, he is a credentialed neuroendovascular surgeon for the Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training (CAST) of the Society of Neurological Surgeons. He is currently the fellowship director for the Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine neuroendovascular fellowship training program and the neurointerventional radiology Director of Stroke at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis. Dr. Sahlein runs the grant-supported Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine ischemic stroke research project.
